 The Right MP3 Player For Audiobooks

One of the first things you are going to want to determine is what are your needs. What will you be using your mp3-player for? Will it be to listen to music while working out at the gym, or will it be to listen to that new audiobook while on your next road trip? Some mp3-players have nice size screens that you can watch a movie on, or even TV shows. So knowing what you are going to be using your mp3 player for will be the first step for you when choosing a player

Onto the next step. Since now you have taken some time to determine exactly what you will be using your mp3-player for, now come determining how much memory, or hard-drive you are going to need.

Just like with desk-top computers and laptops, mp3-players come in many hard-drive memory variations. You can get a player with 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 20GB, and even up to a 60 GB hard drive. Since mp3-players can be used to download music, audiobooks, pictures, and movies, let me give you a general idea of what a 4GB hard-drive will give you. You will be able hold up to 14 full length movies, 50 audiobooks, and 1000 plus songs. What ever you plan to use your player for this will give you just an idea of what kind of hard-drive space you should be looking for.

By now you probably have a rough idea of what you are willing to spend. With the increase in the demand the decrease in price comes. However, in 2007, you can get a player for anywhere between $49 dollars up to $350 dollars US.

The more memory you want the more it is going to cost you. So, whether you are looking to pick up a new player for your next road trip, or just looking to play your favorite tunes while working out, remember more and more uses are being made available on mp3, like learning a new language, or college text books, and radio shows.

The final thing you going to want to do is some research. This goes without say, if you are going to buy something it is best to do a little research before making a big purchase like this. Yes, many people follow the crowd and go with the ipod, but there are many great other brands of players that have great features that ipods don't currently have, or you need to buy additional attachments for that particular feature.

There are many sites online that will not only tell you the price, but also the features that each player has, and many have reviews from people who already own the player you're looking at and will provide some great information that may help you in making your decision.

By following these steps you will be able to determine which player is going to best fit your needs. One thing to keep in mind is that with time your needs may change, and with the amount of space you're going to change as well. Currently, I own a 4GB mp3-player that suites my music needs just fine for now, however, I do have the ability to expand my memory capacity if my needs change along the way.
